A 58-year-old man was shot dead in Hlobane on Monday last week.
Nonkenhle Xhakaza and his family were in their house in the Vumani area when two unknown men entered the premises. Xhakaza’s daughter went outside and demanded to know what they were doing there. The intruders allegedly replied that they wanted to see her father. She directed the men to her father’s house and when Xhakaza’s wife opened the door, they opened fire. Xhakaza sustained four gunshot wounds and died at the scene.
The motive for the murder is unknown at this stage.
