MK members keep the town clean
The aim is to spread awareness about keeping the environment 'healthy'.
Female MK members from Steadville and Tsakane Ward 9, 10 and 21 held a clean-up campaign in the CBD yesterday (March 27).
The five women started out by cleaning up the taxi rank at the Queen/Lyell Street intersection, before proceeding to the Plaza.
Buyisiwe Cebekhulu said the idea came about after they noticed that the taxi ranks are filthy.

“Since we also use public transport, we noticed that our taxi ranks are dirty. Instead of pointing fingers, we decided to play our part and help where we can,” said Cebekhulu.
She added that this is not the first time they have undertaken a clean-up campaign, and they plan to have programmes of this nature more regularly.
