Man burns to death after lover’s quarrel

He then grabbed a panga and proceeded to hack her several times

A lover’s quarrel ended in attempted murder and suicide in Pongola last week. It all started when a woman requested that her boyfriend, Sibusiswe Nxumalo, move out of the house. An incensed Nxumalo demanded that she drink poison, which she refused to do. He then grabbed a panga and proceeded to hack her several times on both hands and arms. The woman fell unconscious and Nxumalo took her to a local clinic for medical attention. She was later transferred to a hospital, where she was admitted. Nxumalo went back home and set the house alight while he was still inside. He burned to death.
