Man shot dead after attempted robbery

A 30-year-old unidentified man was shot dead on Saturday evening after allegedly attempting to rob an employee at a local business.
The owner of the business and a companion were contacted and responded to the scene.
While they were looking around, the suspect fired two shots at them with a handgun. The business owner returned fire and fatally wounded the attacker. Five or six other suspects fled the scene.
The owner’s friend secured the dead man’s firearm and then saw that the owner was having a heart attack. He rushed his friend to hospital and notified the police.
An investigation is currently underway.
