R74 Colenso road closed due to protest action

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes until the road is clear.

The R74 Colenso road came to a standstill near the iconic gum trees this morning (May 30).

Ongoing service delivery protests brought traffic to a halt, with community members voicing their frustrations over persistent water outages in the area.

As authorities worked to monitor the situation and maintain order, motorists were left scrambling to find alternative routes.

The road closure was a major inconvenience for motorists heading to work this morning.

However, despite the disruption, the protesters remained resolute in their demands for reliable access to clean water, a basic necessity they say has been denied for far too long.
