Long-awaited road construction begins in Ward 1
Cllr Mazibuko expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the mayor and the municipality for fulfilling a need in the community.
The long-standing dream of Ward 1 Councillor Mr Mazibuko, under Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality, has finally become a reality. This comes after a soil-turning ceremony was held in Mphophomeni, Loskop, to mark the beginning of construction on a new road, which will be named Mshweshwe Road.
The event was led by Mayor Mduduzi Myeza, who officially introduced Siwa Consulting as the contractor responsible for the construction of the four-kilometre road. The project is expected to start within the next few weeks and will take approximately six months to complete.
During a community meeting held at the Mphophomeni Hall, Myeza highlighted that the project would create 11 job opportunities and emphasised that these should benefit local residents rather than individuals commuting from other areas. He also called on the community to work harmoniously with the contractors to ensure the smooth progress of the project.
