Gunmen impersonate police in fatal Mondlo shooting

Gunmen posing as police shot and killed Andile Mdlalose in Mondlo.

Gunmen posing as police officers shot and killed a 34-year-old man in Mondlo on Saturday morning.
A witness (who prefers to stay anonymous) stated that he heard voices identifying themselves as policemen, after which he reported hearing a loud noise.
Assuming that the door of a nearby shack was being forced open, he then heard four gunshots ring out and then the words, “Let’s go”.
Fearing for his life, the witness remained in his shack before seeking help.
Upon returning with neighbours, the witness found the body of Andile Mdlalose in his rondavel with several gunshot wounds.
Mdlalose was lying on the floor next to his bed, facing down. According to police, the possible motive is known, but it cannot be mentioned due to the sensitivity of another case.
