Women in Mazizini empowered through outreach initiative

The information was well-received and the community expressed their appreciation for the engagement.

Women in the Mazizini area of Bergville recently benefited from a powerful community outreach initiative aimed at equipping them with valuable knowledge and resources.

The event, hosted by the Department of Social Development, saw the participation of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in KwaZulu-Natal, among other key stakeholders. Held at the Mazizini Traditional Court, the outreach programme focused on giving women access to social and economic opportunities so they can build sustainable livelihoods.

Various government departments and organisations took part, including the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA); Department of Health; Correctional Services; Department of Economic Development, Tourism & Traditional Affairs; as well as police units from Ladysmith and Bergville. Legal Aid South Africa and several private companies were also in attendance, contributing to the collaborative effort.
