Runners conquer scenic Lüneburg Trail Run 2025
Perfect weather and mountain views made this year’s Lüneburg Trail Run unforgettable.
Perfect weather for a memorable race
The Lüneburg Trail Run once again delivered a memorable experience for local athletes, with perfect weather, scenic mountain views and plenty of endurance on display.
Clear skies replace last year’s mist
After last year’s misty conditions, this year’s event treated runners to clear skies and breathtaking views of the lakes and grasslands surrounding Lüneburg. The event, now in its second year, drew strong support from returning participants eager for round two of the challenge.
Routes for every fitness level
Distances ranged from 4km and 8km fun runs to a demanding 23km route and, for the first time, an ultra-distance 65km course. The 65km runners set off at 04:00, navigating the unmarked route using GPS watches, with most finishing in about 10 hours.
Challenging but rewarding 23km route
The 23km race proved particularly tough, with most trail runners finishing between four and five hours, and some walking portions of the route. Despite the difficulty, participants described the run as rewarding, both for the spectacular views and the sense of achievement at the finish.
Strong performances from local athletes
Congratulations to Carla Muller, who finished as the fourth woman overall, and to Samantha Johannes for her strong performance.

Entries already open for next year
The event organisers have already opened entries for next year’s race. Photos and updates are available on the Lüneburg Trail Run’s Instagram page, and entries can be made via the Entry Ninja platform.
