A family fight on a Paulpietersburg farm left a 25-year-old man dead.

A young man died after a family fight turned fatal on a farm outside Paulpietersburg in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

Police arrive to find body in bedroom

Police sources who are not allowed to speak to the media confirmed that officers were called to a farm in the Nkonkotho area at about 05:00, where they found the body of a 25-year-old man in his room.

Argument begins at unlicensed liquor spot

According to the sources, the trouble started the previous night at an unlicensed liquor spot. The victim had allegedly been arguing with another person when his younger brother stepped in to separate them. The group later went home, but the argument flared up again.

Knife enters fight during chaotic struggle

One of the sources said the fight allegedly became chaotic when the father tried to break it up. “The knife fell during the struggle. The younger brother picked it up and stabbed him in the chest,” the source said.

Victim walks to room before being found dead

The victim walked to his room afterward. He was found dead the next morning and the police were alerted.

Younger brother arrested at the scene

Detectives arrested the younger brother at the scene. The knife has been booked into evidence.
