New Miss ILM 2025/2026 walks away with brand-new car

The event drew a large audience of youth, parents and community members from across Estcourt.

Penny Shezi walked away with a brand-new Hyundai i10 and R10,000 cash after being crowned Miss Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality (ILM) 2025/2026 at the second annual Glitz and Glam Pageant held at Imbali Estate in Estcourt yesterday (December 15).

The prestigious event featured both senior and teen contestants, and drew a large audience of youth, parents and community members from across Estcourt. The competition was intense and ran late into the night, ending in the early hours of Tuesday morning at around 02:00.

The pageant was graced by several dignitaries, including ILM Mayor Mduduzi Myeza, Deputy Mayor Sthabiso Dladla, Speaker SW Khumalo and other municipal leaders.

The results were as follows:

Senior category

Queen: Penny Shezi;

First runner-up: Senamile Thwala;

Second runner-up: Omhle Xaba.

Teen category

Queen: Zanokuhle Mkhize;

First runner-up: Samkelisiwe Nyathi;

Second runner-up: Ahlengwe Shabalala.

Sbahle Mbhele was named ‘Public Choice Queen’, earning recognition through audience votes.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by well-known artists such as IntabayaseDubai and Navigator, Penny Ntuli as MC, and talented local performers, adding energy and excitement to the glamorous occasion.

Speaking at the event, the mayor congratulated all contestants on their confidence and dedication. He highlighted that he had fulfilled a promise made at last year’s inaugural pageant, where he pledged that the next winner would receive a brand-new car – a promise that was realised with this year’s top prize.
