No power in Rose Park after mini substation explodes

The explosion resulted in burnt cables and equipment failure.

An explosion occurred yesterday (December 16) at the RMU (mini substation) in Chisty Place, resulting in a power outage affecting Rose Park and surrounding suburbs.

Following a detailed inspection, technicians confirmed that the RMU sustained significant damage, including burnt cables.

Power is likely to be restored between 15:00 and 16:00 today (December 17).

The Electricity Department sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused.
