Back-to-School Fun Run draws strong community support

The local community showed its generosity as 77 participants supported the Back-to-School Fun Run and donated stationery to learners in need.

The local community once again showed its generosity at the Back-to-School Fun Run held on Saturday. 77 participants took part in the event, making it a great success.

Stationery donations to benefit local schools

The organisers would like to extend their sincere thanks to every participant who not only took part in the run, but also donated much-needed stationery. Times are tough, but together we can make a difference. Each year, different schools are nominated to benefit from the donations. This year, the stationery will be donated to Nuwe Republiek School and Hoërskool Pionier, where it will be distributed to learners in need.

Thanks to sponsors and emergency services

A heartfelt thank you also goes out to all the sponsors, as well as the Traffic Department and Kwazulu Private Ambulance. Without their support, events like this would not be possible.

More events planned for February

The community is invited to continue spreading the love by taking part in the Valentine’s Fun Run on Tuesday, February 10, starting at 17:30 at Dee’s.

Thursdays on the Run launches this week

In addition, the club will be launching its first ‘Thursdays on the Run’ this week. Everyone is welcome to join. The run will start at 17:30 from the VAC clubhouse at Hoërskool Pionier. Registration opens at 17:10 and the entry fee is R5.
