VAC hosts vibrant Valentine’s Fun Run

VAC Valentine’s Fun Run brings fitness, families and festive spirit together.

Vryheid Athletic Club (VAC), together with members of the community, laced up their running shoes for an afternoon of fun and fitness at the annual Valentine’s Fun Run held on Tuesday last week.

The event was marked by a lively atmosphere, with excitement, laughter and a strong sense of togetherness evident throughout the route. From competitive runners setting a steady pace to families and friends taking part for the fun of it, participants of all ages contributed to the spirit of the occasion.

Families and all ages take part

Young children ran alongside parents, some determined to keep up stride for stride, while others happily jogged or walked, soaking up the festive atmosphere.

Mothers with babies in prams were also part of the afternoon’s activities, pushing strollers along the route and proving that the event truly catered for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. The sight of families participating together highlighted the inclusive nature of the fun run and added a heartwarming touch to the day.

Sponsors and services ensure success

Organisers expressed their appreciation to the event’s sponsors for donating lucky draw prizes, which added to the festive mood and gave participants even more reason to celebrate at the finish line. Thanks were also extended to the Traffic Department and KwaZulu Private Ambulance Services for their support and assistance in ensuring the safety of runners and spectators.

VAC thanked every participant, supporter and organiser for playing a role in making the Valentine’s Fun Run another successful community event.
