Faith and education unite to uplift matric learners in AbaQulusi

Church honours top matric achievers while advancing mentorship and academic support programmes.

God’s Time Ministries International continues to promote its vision of building a learned community through various programmes aimed at motivating and encouraging academic excellence among young people.

The church supported six matric learners, all of whom achieved a 100% pass rate. The learners — Ayabonga Mhlongo, Letshwale Nkosi, Senamile Thabede, Nonzuzo Ntshakala, Nokuhle Gumbi and Mvuselelo Hlela — all qualified for admission to institutions of higher learning to pursue bachelor’s degrees and diplomas.

Recognising top achievers

In celebration of their achievements, the top matric performers were awarded digital gadgets to assist them with their tertiary studies.

The church also provides ongoing support to learners through dedicated prayer sessions held each term. In addition, a mentorship programme pairs learners with professionals within the church, particularly in the fields of Mathematics and Science.

Support beyond the classroom

Beyond academic support, the ministry assists underprivileged children with school shoes and uniforms through donations from church members.

Spotlight on excellence

One of the achievers, Nonzuzo Ntshakala from KwaBhanya High School, obtained three distinctions in the science stream. She is currently enrolled at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree.

Commitment to future learners

Apostle Hlehla said the church would continue supporting its 2025 matric cohort.

“The church will continue to support the rest of its 2025 matric cohort with tokens of appreciation,” he said.
