SAWS issues weather warning for Newcastle

The South African Weather Services has issued a level 2 weather warning for Newcastle today.

The South African Weather Service has issued a level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms in Newcastle and surrounding areas today (Monday, February 23).

According to SAWS, severe thunderstorms accompanied by heavy downpours with the potential to cause flooding of susceptible roads and settlements, strong damaging winds, hail and excessive lightning resulting in danger to life are expected over over most parts of KZN today and tomorrow.

  • Alfred Duma – Indaka
  • Alred Duma – Ladysmith
  • Big Five – Hlabisa
  • Hluhluwe
  • Dannhauser
  • Dr N. Dlamini-Zuma
  • Underberg
  • eDumbe
  • eMadlangeni
  • Endumeni
  • Ethewkwini
  • Greater Kokstad
  • Impendle
  • Ingwe
  • Inkosi Langalibalele
  • Escourt
  • Sobalili
  • Jozini
  • Mpofana
  • Giants Castle
  • Mooi river
  • Msinga
  • Mtubatuba
  • Newcastle

Potential Impacts Include:
