Animal Inspector Storm Wayner thanks Ndaka Safari Lodge for donation

Soft food and toys urgently needed for shelter animals.

A generous drop-off at the Gazette Offices

Ndaka Safari Lodge has shown its heart for the community by delivering a generous donation of dog food to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL). The much-needed pet food was dropped off at the Gazette offices.

Gazette delivers to the AACL

The Gazette team made their way to the AACL yesterday (February 25) to hand over the donation in person.

Newly appointed Animal Inspector Storm Wayner warmly thanked Ndaka Safari Lodge for its generous support. She expressed how meaningful the donation is to the organisation and, most importantly, to the animals in their care. According to Storm, community partnerships like this play an important role in helping the AACL continue its mission of protecting and caring for the animals at the shelter.

An urgent need for comfort and care

While the dog food donation is deeply appreciated, Storm explained that the AACL is currently in desperate need of soft cat and dog food. Many of the animals, particularly the very young and the older ones, rely on softer food as it is easier for them to eat and digest.

In addition, toys are urgently needed. Storm shared that toys offer more than simple entertainment. During bad weather, when thunder and rain can leave puppies feeling anxious and unsettled in their kennels, a toy can bring comfort and help them feel secure. Something as small as a chew toy or soft play item can make a big difference in helping a frightened puppy feel safe.

How the community can help

Anyone wishing to support the AACL can drop off donations at the Gazette offices at 1 White Road or directly at the AACL premises at 201 Newcastle Road. Every packet of soft food and every donated toy contributes to the well being of the animals waiting for their forever homes.
