Automark hosted its Charity Bowls Day on Saturday at the Newcastle Bowling Club, with all proceeds going towards purchasing school shoes for underprivileged children.
Rain delays bowling competition
Heavy rain forced the postponement of the bowling competition and a new date will be announced in due course.
All entry fees already paid will be carried over to the rescheduled event.
Despite the disruption, teams remained in good spirits and enjoyed a game of bingo.

The raffle prize was won by Billy Villiers, who generously returned it to be auctioned in support of the school shoe initiative. His gesture was greatly appreciated.
The fireplace was auctioned for R5,600 to Hannes Coetzer from Volksrust Bowling Club.
A brief break in the rain allowed teams to enjoy a short game of bowls.

Community spirit shines through
Automark, Toyota and all sponsors are thanked for hosting a successful event in support of a worthy cause. Their generosity and community spirit are sincerely appreciated.

Meanwhile, the summer AME Business League concludes this week.
Groot Kole leads the standings as the only unbeaten team on 25 points, followed by Groot Voite on 20 points. Rainbow Farmyards, Impies, and Darrel Brown & Co are tied on 19 points.
Prize-giving will mark the end of another successful league season.
