Dannhauser conducts Easter roadblock operation along R621

Multiple law enforcement agencies conducted a successful Easter weekend roadblock operation along the R621 in Dannhauser on Tuesday (March 31).

According to a statement from Dannhauser Municipality’s communications department, the roadblock formed part of the national and provincial Transport Month road safety campaign.

Multi-agency effort boosts road safety

The operation involved the Dannhauser Traffic Department, working in collaboration with the Amajuba Cluster SAPS, the Department of Transport: Road Safety (Amajuba District), and Dundee RTI.

Preliminary statistics following the operation:
• 11 traffic fines issued
• 118 vehicles searched
• 365 passengers screened

Leadership supports enforcement teams

The roadblock was conducted under the leadership of Mayor BA Radebe, with support from Deputy Mayor BTS Langa and Director of Community Services Mr M Ngwabe.

“They were present on-site to support enforcement teams led by Mr Nzuza, alongside the Dannhauser police service,” the statement read.

The municipality added that the roadblock formed part of a broader transport safety programme aimed at promoting responsible road use, ensuring compliance with traffic regulations, and safeguarding all road users during the Easter holiday period.

“Dannhauser Local Municipality remains committed to strengthening road safety awareness, encouraging compliance, and ensuring safer roads for all,” the statement concluded.
