Scout group seeks leader to save youth programme

The 3rd Newcastle Scout Group is looking for a volunteer leader to continue decades of community impact and development.

For more than 50 years, the 3rd Newcastle Scout Group has played a vital role in shaping the character, confidence and leadership skills of countless young people in the community.

Generations of children and teenagers have benefited from the values, adventure and sense of belonging that Scouting provides.

On the brink of closure

Today, however, this long-standing institution is facing a serious challenge. In recent years, the number of Cubs and Scouts has declined dramatically, placing the group on the brink of closure. Without dedicated leadership, this proud legacy could soon come to an end.

Step forward and make a difference

The 3rd Newcastle Scout Group is urgently appealing to residents to step forward and make a difference. They are looking for a committed individual to take on the role of Scout leader and help guide the next generation. No prior experience is required – just a willingness to serve, a passion for working with young people, and a sense of community spirit. Full training will be provided to become a warranted Scout leader.

This is more than just a volunteer opportunity – it’s a chance to inspire, mentor and leave a lasting impact on the youth of Newcastle. If you are able to help or would like more information on how to get involved, please contact committee member Terry Smith on 0824641060
