Dundee spinner edges closer to major sponsorship deal

Dundee spinning star Preshu Singh is edging closer to a major sponsorship deal after promising talks with condition-monitoring company WearCheck.

Local spinning star Preshu Singh is a step closer to securing major corporate backing after promising discussions with leading condition-monitoring company WearCheck.

The potential partnership follows an introduction at the Gas Motor Show in Durban, where WearCheck met Singh and representatives of 360 Boyz Motorsport Promotions to learn more about the driver, his career and the organisation’s efforts to promote spinning as a professional sport.

The relationship has since gathered momentum, with both parties exploring a formal sponsorship agreement – welcome news in a sport where corporate backing can be difficult to secure.

More than just entertainment

While spinning is widely recognised for its thrilling displays, Singh said the sport demands far more than entertaining crowds.

“Spinning is not simply about getting into a car and performing. There is extensive mechanical preparation, maintenance, practice, discipline and responsibility involved,” he said.

The potential partnership is a natural fit, with WearCheck specialising in oil analysis, condition monitoring and preventative maintenance – all vital in a sport where engines operate under extreme conditions.

Partnership put on display

The relationship was showcased publicly at the Bay Winter Slam at Deynecke Raceway in Richards Bay in August, where Singh’s spinning car carried the company’s branding.

Singh said spinning provides drivers with a controlled environment to demonstrate their abilities while creating opportunities for event organisers, mechanics, photographers, entertainers, vendors and other small businesses.

For Dundee, the developing partnership is another boost for local motor sport.

Singh continues to represent the town on the national stage, while 360 Boyz hopes the collaboration will lead to greater exposure, improved vehicle preparation and encourage more companies to invest in South Africa’s growing spinning industry.
