Cyclists set to spend weekend in Dundee as challenge excitement mounts
Cyclists will tackle three mountain passes when the Biggarsberg Cycle Challenge takes to the roads on September 27.
All cycling roads lead to Dundee this weekend when the town hosts the third annual l Biggarsberg Cycle Challenge on Sunday, September 27.
The all-tar road race will offer cyclists two distances – a challenging 100km route and a shorter 45km option.
The 100km race starts at 7am, with the 45km event getting under way at 7.15am. Entry for the 100km race is R300, while the 45km race costs R100.
Riders will tackle three mountain passes along the route – Glencoe Pass, Mpati and Endumeni – making for a demanding but scenic day in the saddle.
Categories include men and women, juniors aged 14 to 19, open riders aged 19 to 39, veterans aged 40 to 49, masters aged 50 to 59 and grand masters aged 59 and over.
The event is being promoted as a day of great routes, stunning views and a challenge for cyclists of different ages and abilities.
The race starts and finishes at the Talana Museum in Dundee.
