First PSG Super 8 league game at VHS

Undoubtedly, Vryheid High School learners, staff and parents represented VHS with dignity and pride

Vryheid High School was excited to host its first PSG Super 8 league game on Saturday. The PSG Super 8 league comprises four schools in Northern KwaZulu-Natal (NKZN) and four schools in the South Coast region of KZN.

Empangeni High School was the rival for the day. The day was a huge success as participants showed commitment and displayed commendable talent. As a result of such dedication, the VHS teams won most of their games. VHS learners also demonstrated admirable discipline which added to the success of the day.

Sports codes that participated included: rugby, chess, netball and hockey. The results are as follows: u/14 rugby won 36 – 0, u/16 rugby won 19 – 0, the second team won 38 – 0, the first team won 31 – 7 and u/15 had a tight game – they unfortunately lost 14 – 15. The first chess team won 7 – 3. Netball u/14A won 13 – 10, u/15A drew 15 – 15, u/16A lost 23 – 24, 2nd team lost 12 – 17 and the First team lost 19 -27. The u/14 girls hockey lost 0 – 2, u/16 won 3 – 1, and the First team won 6 – 1. The first team boys hockey won 2 – 1.

Undoubtedly, Vryheid High School learners, staff and parents represented VHS with dignity and pride. We are looking forward to our next PSG Super 8 league game!
