Hamilton pupil and Aqua-Gym Club athlete Liam Grant (11) competed in the uThukela Age Group Gala on Saturday, October 12, at the Ladysmith Town Pool.

He placed first in the 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly, finishing second in the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.

Matthew Usher-Jones (10) also represented Aqua-Gym, placing first in the 50m and 100m backstroke, as well as second in the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.

This was Aqua-Gym’s first competition as a registered club, with both pupils proudly representing the club.

The uThukela Age Group Gala was a qualifying event for the next levels, with the upcoming meet scheduled for November 4 at the Ladysmith Town Pool.
