It’s derby time against Hoërskool Pionier

Heartfelt congratulations go to first team coaches Mr van der Heever and Mr Booyens for their exceptional guidance and leadership.

The highly anticipated derby games between Vryheid High School (VHS) and Hoërskool Pionier took place on Saturday at the VHS grounds. In the lead-up to the event, learners showcased their team spirit through various fun activities.
From Monday to Friday last week, learners showed their enthusiasm through themed dress days:
– May 19: Dressed as primary school kids, bringing out the kid in everyone.
– May 20: Flops and socks day added a touch of humour and playfulness.
– May 21: The matrics dressed as teachers, showcasing their creative side, followed by an energetic geesvang sokkie in the evening.
– May 22: Blue Day boosted team morale.
– May 23: Learners proudly wore green and gold, representing VHS’ vibrant colours.
The highlight of the derby was undoubtedly the first rugby team’s impressive 28-15 win against Hoërskool Pionier. This victory marked a significant milestone, as it had been a long time since VHS’s first team last triumphed over their opponents.
Heartfelt congratulations go to first team coaches Mr van der Heever and Mr Booyens for their exceptional guidance and leadership.
Well done to the captain, Asanda Maphisa, and the entire first team for their outstanding performance and teamwork.
