VHS hosts exciting PSG games against RHS

The day was a resounding success, showcasing the athletic talent and sportsmanship of both VHS and RHS.

Vryheid High School (VHS) recently hosted Richards Bay High School (RHS) in a highly-anticipated PSG league, held on May 17. This was the second game for the PSG teams and the event saw an impressive display of teamwork and skill from both schools.
The tournament featured a range of sports, including rugby, netball and hockey; with both boys’ and girls’ teams participating. The competition was fierce, with both schools showcasing their athletic prowess.

Match results are as follows:

Rugby scores:

– U/14: VHS 26-7 RHS
– U/15: VHS 14-15 RHS
– U/16: VHS 17-18 RHS
– Second: VHS 34-0 RHS
– First XV: VHS 44-15 RHS

Girls’ hockey scores:

– U/14: VHS 2-2 RHS
– U/16: VHS 4-0 RHS
– Second: VHS 0-2 RHS
– First: VHS 0-0 RHS

Boys’ hockey scores

– First: VHS 4-2 RHS
– Second: VHS 3-1 RHS

Netball scores

– U/14: VHS 11-21 RHS
– U/15: VHS 10-7 RHS
– U/16: VHS 31-8 RHS
– Second: VHS 16-9 RHS
– First: VHS 41-8 RHS

Several VHS players stood out during the tournament. These players were awarded ‘Player of the Match’. They include:

– Netball U/14: Luyanda Mchunu
– Netball U/15: Mandisa Mtshali
– Netball U/16: Nongcebo Mhlongo

– Rugby second team: Muzi Buthelezi
– Girls’ hockey U/16: Ntobeko Mdletshe
– Boys’ hockey first team: Clevyle Thomas
