Learners show off their spelling skills

The competition was fierce, with participants from various schools vying for top spots in the IsiZulu and English categories.

Alfred Duma Local Municipality’s spelling bee competition, held at Agra Crescent library recently, was a thrilling event that showcased the talents of local learners.

In the IsiZulu category, Thandiswa Zwane from MC Varman Primary School emerged as the winner, followed by Ndlo Sithole from Acaciavale Primary School in second place, and Trisha Mahbhungu in third.

In the English category, Aphelele Miya from MC Varman Primary School took the top spot, with Rayalia Ahir from Acaciavale Primary School in second place, and Asiphile Hlatshwayo in third.

The respective schools were beaming with pride after the competition, celebrating their learners’ achievements.

The local municipality and Ladysmith library services are commended for hosting this successful event, which has ignited a passion for language and learning among the young participants.
