St Dominics Newcastle learners excel in national Olympiads
St Dominics Newcastle is celebrating its learners outstanding national Olympiad results across all phases. Read more here:
In the 2025 SA Olympiads, featuring more than 110 000 learners from over 1 000 schools, our learners shone brilliantly, securing multiple Top 15 positions across Mathematics, English, and Coding & Robotics.
In the Foundation Phase, our young mathematicians excelled:
- Grade 1: Yize Ye, Kayden Douglas, and Isipho Dilizo placed 2nd in South Africa.
- Grade 2: Siwaphiwe Nkutha and Luca Schmidtke also secured 2nd place nationally.
- Grade 3: Babalwa Duma achieved 2nd place, with Mpilenhle Kubheka close behind in 3rd.
Our Intermediate Phase achievers continued the success:
- Grade 4 Mathematics: Gabriel Kiuvu ranked 4th nationally.
- Grade 4 English: Wandiswa Sitebe earned an impressive 3rd place.
And in the Senior Phase, our learners showcased exceptional talent:
- Grade 7 Coding & Robotics: Kiran Hattingh placed 2nd, and Shahmeer Badloo took 5th in the country.
- Grade 7 Mathematics: Kiran Hattingh added to the triumph with a 3rd place finish.
These results reflect not only exceptional ability, but also the hard work, curiosity, and passion for learning that define our St Dominics community.
