Proud owners go the extra mile

Madam – I would like to say a big thank you to the management of Palm Court for always keeping the road edge in a beautiful neat condition in Impala Drive.

They have also previously employed a service provider to eradicate weeds and grass growing in the road with weedkill.

Even though it is not the responsibility of residents to keep their verges neat there are many proud home owners in Newcastle who go the extra mile to keep our suburbs beautiful, even going as far as removing weeds from the road!

Provision is made from municipal rates collected to allow for the cutting of verges as well as the eradication of grass and weeds growing into the road which should also lengthen the life of our roads preventing damage to tarred surfaces, but sadly this is not always the case where in many instances damage is already done.
