It is a sad day in the lives of not only South Africans but the whole world, that they have to mourn the passing away of a great leader that South Africa had up to this day.
During his 1963 Rivonia trial, Nelson Mandela had this to say:
“During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to the struggle of the African people. I have fought against white denomination, and I have fought against black denomination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all people live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.” These were his words from the docks.
