Mr Mayor, I am really worried about the behaviour of our youngsters who are supposed to keep Newcastle clean! They are not cutting grass in the streets but what they are doing is charging residents R100 to cut grass in their yards! Who is supervising them? Using municipality petrol, time and equipment for their gain! Concerned resident Ntombana

It is unacceptable. We do have supervisors but people still take chances. Please report these offences to the municipality the moment it happens.

Mayor, we community of Charlestown feel neglected by your office.Your promise for RDP houses, new community hall in this fanancial year 2012/2013 was a false promise. Our streets are deeply eroded with huge dongas by rain, because there is no maintenance whatsoever that has been done in our streets for years now. Are you seriously committed in improving the lives of Charlestown community? Lucky Mbatha

There were no promises made that is not being fulfilled. People of Charlestown have received electricity, water pipes and a new play park in the area, including a new pension payout office. We are currently planning the new hall, which is budgeted, and the RdP houses, which is approved by province, is at an advanced stage. We have also gone out on tender to fence the cemetery there. There are more projects taking place there then in any other part of Newcastle!

MAYOR congratulations on the wonderful work you have done! I wanted to know if its possible to put cats eyes on all speed bumps in Newcastle as it is very difficult to see them at night. Thanks
