Civil servants should lead by example

You are setting a very poor example and showing us that you have no regard for the very thing you are employed to uphold

This is an open letter to law enforcement officers who openly disobey the laws when they should be leading by example.
Yes, everyone should not be painted with the same brush but I think it’s safe to say that a fair amount of police and traffic cops openly flout the law with an arrogant confidence that nothing will happen to them.
In Harding Street today, Saturday, I came across a female traffic officer who double-parked at a take away.
Probably waiting for her colleague to return with their lunch.
I have seen this more than once and police officers are guilty of doing this too.
To those officers who think that road rules are just there for the public, think again.
You are setting a very poor example and showing us that you have no regard for the very thing you are employed to uphold.
Our mentality when you stop us now will be to test and maybe undermine your authority, but may I be so bold to suggest that you brought it upon yourselves.
Please officers, remember that when you are in uniform, you are a civil servant and your acts should show this.
