Editor – It saddens me to see how our people are living in their homes after the hailstorm of December 9, 2012.
A year has now passed… We were asked to fill out forms for the repairs of our homes, and now it’s 2014!
Our mayor got contractors to do the repairs just for a few weeks and then the contractors were on holiday, not that they did a good job in the first place! If you go to 10 Meena Place, you’ll see the pathetic job that was done there.
Why doesn’t the mayor want to pay the residents who repaired their own homes, as happened in Estcourt? We are definately going to boycott the contractor. It’s not council money, so please, people, let’s make a stand for justice and get what is rightfully due to each household.
God didn’t select which homes were hit by the hail, so why should the municipality get to select which homes to repair?
