Madam – Driving through town, I can’t help but wonder how people get their driver’s licence.
So many motorists show a total lack of concern for other road users.
The use of indicators is a thing of the past; people pull over just where they want, even on busy roads.
Then there are those who believe they are auditioning for the latest Fast and the Furious movie by speeding through town and there are those who simply do not look where they are driving.
Newcastle’s population is growing rapidly and with more people using motor vehicles, I am starting to believe the roads are becoming more and more dangerous.
While traffic officials cannot be blamed for the negligent driving, I feel that motorists should be tested every second year for their licence.
Once people know that their lousy road habits can see them lose their driver’s licence, maybe they would pay more attention to how they are driving.
At the moment, it feels like every time I get on the roads, I am participating in some demolition derby and should purchase some car from a slimy dealer.
