People what has happened to our once beautiful town?
Firstly, Harding Street – the centre of town – is absolutely filthy.
Outside the Shoprite goods receiving area stinks like a pigsty.
This is so unhealthy, especially with the food outlets nearby.
Secondly, the post office – by the post boxes always stinks of urine because people are urinating there.
Then we get to Colita.
Our dirt is collected on Tuesdays and every single Tuesday it is collected BUT, not all of it.
The guys do not handle the dirt bags properly and end up spilling most of the dirt on the streets – Sagittarius, Jennings and Cosmos – and do not even bother to pick up after themselves!
The streets end up looking like some squatter camp street and not a residential area. People have complained about the sewerage stench in Colita as well but, to date the overflow and stench is even worse than before!
The grass is so long and untidy that it is quite embarrassing to invite out of town guests to our homes because it is looking so ugly and dirty!
What do you want us to do to get our town clean and back to its original state? We will not even attempt to discuss the roads!
A plea to our leaders, stop fighting amongst yourselves for higher positions and more money and deliver on what you promised!
Elections are here again and our town is worse off than what it was!
Municipal Manager – madam if you have staff in your employ who are not performing, please get rid of them and employ people who are more suited and qualified to do the job.
Employ people who have our town’s interest and wellbeing at heart. Enough is enough!
Our ex-white suburbs don’t look like this!
Do you want the residents to start taking action, like the other provinces do?
Do you want us to start rioting, burning tyres etc?
A challenge to all the political parties out there – clean up our town, fix up the problems and I guarantee you that people will come out in their numbers to vote for your party.
