Candidates, supporters and unending entourages, road shows, canvassing, every trick in the book is being used by political parties to woo voters.
In days gone by the municipalities provided client services without reminders, without party politics.
We are not concerned with party politics but services.
Give us the basics – water (burst water pipes), good roads (potholes), repairs to municipal homes, cutting the grass (often overgrown) on street pavements, controlling labour, etc, etc.
The rank area development is secondary.
We see candidates and party members even identifying with religious functions – why not previously?
Use your “head” before voting.
If you cannot vote for “honesty” and sincerity” for genuine service delivery, then think again.
We do not need persons that mislead us through promises and words.
We need action.
Good luck to the best candidate.
