Please allow me a couple of lines in your esteemed newspaper to reply to “Furious Resident” ranting on about his water account being paid.
Why, my good man, did you not stand with the community when the decision was made to boycott payment due to an unfair price hike?
Remember the toll road protest? On whose side were you?
Are you paying the full toll or are you getting the concession for Estcourt residents?
Remember with risk comes reward.
Why are you now being jealous of those who took a stance to stand with the community?
We live in a real democracy where we have the freedom to protest what’s wrong without being intimidated or arrested.
Let me end by stating that you took the decision to pay on your own, so live with it and don’t be jealous for others.
