Will commenting help to save us?

I have written many articles regarding this matter but it doesn’t seem that any one concerned reads them or other people’s comments. I don’t know how the Newcastle Advertiser operates regarding these comments we make. Once you have made comments, that’s it, no correspondence.

So how will commenting assist in getting things right in our town/city? Just lately I commented again and even on the MEC of Health of KZN. He might be a good doctor but he is not suitable for this job. We need someone new and also a new Governing Body to see change. WE need a father-like figure that should see everyone equally.

Priority should be a NEW HOSPITAL IN NEWCASTLE. Lots of us are victims of what happened [as described] in the article above, but what can we do? Patients are constantly sent back and forth to Greys in PMB with no joy, but resentment.

People are dying in Newcastle due to the lack of our Provincial Health obligations and nobody is doing anything about it. Patients should

be allowed to go straight to Albert Luthuli in DBN. Even Madadeni, oSizweni and other town patients complain about services at Madadeni Hospital. They are wasting the Government’s and

taxpayer’s money.

I compliment one doctor at Madadeni Hospital; they immediately get started with your problem and do everything that they can with the very little facilities they have to work with at the hospital. The Orthopedic Department is a fish market, There again there are some very dedicated doctors there but the senior in charge does not have time for his patients. He admits that there is not much he knows and there is not much he can do.

As for the nurses, they are very rude and just wait to argue with you. It is as if you are not wanted there. Is there going to be change in Newcastle’s health services? What is the future for its people? Looks like our fathers in our town/city are too scared to say or do anything. God Save Us.
