I have recently returned to Estcourt after an absence of some 24 years.
What a let down, I never in my wildest dreams would have thought Estcourt had gone SO backwards.
I have been fortunate to have travelled and spent time in Japan where the unemployment runs at around five percent.
They have achieved this through productivity (for those who don’t know, it’s the amount of work done and how it’s carried out in a certain time period) by mostly working six-hour shifts.
I’m sure this is what Mr Dario Raciti was referring to, and it does not help to report it to the authorities, as nothing happens.
By the way Mr Mnguni, for your information going back in the history of Estcourt, the Raciti family has done a lot for Estcourt and still is with their business employment, etc.
I continually read about the complaints from citizens about the POTHOLES, STREETLIGHTS, FILTH, etc, which appears to fall on deaf ears.
As for the POTHOLES, they should be logged on GPS, as they appear to be a permanent fixture.
I will certainly sue the council should I forget where the potholes are and damage my vehicle (sorry ratepayers).
As a past Councillor of Estcourt for many years we as the community stood together when the Mooi Plaza was built.
With the help of surrounding areas and after a lengthy fight, (being arrested I don’t know how many times) we managed to negotiate a concession, which I’m pleased to see is still in place.
The main reason for the concession being granted was because there was no safe alternative route.
Is it going to take the same form to sort out the town’s roads i.e. rates reduction until they are repaired?
Please Ms Njoko, invite me to drive around town with you and do an inspection.
Surely you would feel very proud if you could work WITH the community and sort out the town.
Imagine how proud you would feel every time you had visitors to Estcourt or went to meetings out of town and said: “I am proudly Estcourt.”
Come on Ms Njoko, I challenge you to get the productivity going and clean up, fix up
Not So Proudly Estcourt
