MOST people know of the terrible inferno on Sunday night, June 15. This whole area turned into a living hell! I had to flee for my life. Neighbours turned up and saved my home.
To each and every one of you, thank you, thank you. I wish I could do something in return but a thank you has to suffice.
Terrance and his son Carl fought this fire with all their might. A few hours later Terrance died. I might have been the last person he spoke to before he left for his home. He assured me three times that I was now his mother, and that in future years he would take care of me!
I feel he gave his life in service of his fellowman. All in this valley knew of his willingness to help where he could, and of his cheerful spirit. Your premature death is a great loss not only to your family but also to your fellowmen.
And we are weeping.
