Have some respect for women

I write this letter with the hope that the men and young boys learn to respect women. Women are not walking for men to look at them or give their silly comments

Madam – As summer is coming in now, people would like to start getting fit by exercising, and as you would notice in the afternoons or early mornings, there are a lot of ladies walking and jogging.

However, most ladies experience such discomfort from our local men; they scream comments out their windows, they hoot at us, and they do not treat us like women.

There was an incident the other week where my friends and I started walking at 6am in the morning, when a car (I will not give any information on the car for my own safety) with three boys in it, stopped and started, driving as we were walking. They where giving silly comments and we carried on to ignore them. This went on for a while till they drove to the nearest stop street and waited a while and drove off. It was a bright morning but it was not so busy so we were actually afraid of them.

Can we not feel safe in our own areas where we live in to go for a morning or afternoon walk and can we not be able to trust our own men who live around us?

We were meant to feel safe with them and not be afraid of them.

I write this letter with the hope that the men and young boys learn to respect women. Women are not walking for men to look at them or give their silly comments; they are walking to get fit, but soon enough we are not going to feel comfortable to leave our homes because of men that we see every day. Men please can you STOP!
