Golfers tee off to support children of fallen officers
Golfers raise funds for children of fallen officers.
The inaugural Amajuba District Fundraising Golf Day took place at Newcastle Golf Club on Saturday, September 26.
More than 80 avid golfers took to the greens to help raise funds for the children of fallen men and women in blue.
According to Amajuba District Commander Major-General Fred Alexander, the purpose of the event was to raise funds towards the South African Police Service Education Trust (SAPSET), which provides educational support to the children of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
“Through this initiative, the district seeks to honour the sacrifices made by these police officers by contributing towards the education and future of their children,” he said.

Alexander said they were able to successfully raise a total of R35 000, which will be donated at the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner’s Golf Day, scheduled to take place on October 15 at Kloof Country Club in Durban.
Alexander further expressed his sincere gratitude to all the sponsors, partners and participants who contributed towards the success of the event.
“The success of this event would not have been possible without the generous support, commitment and contribution of the sponsors, partners and participants,” he concluded.
