Roaming cows and horses and other domestic animals are not only a danger for motorists but for the lives, health and well-being of communities. The streets and private property in and around Boundary Road are constantly covered with animal faeces.
Madam – Is this land residential or for pasturage?
This is exactly the dilemma presented to residents of the Lennoxton area. I herein take the opportunity to enlighten the Council that the term ‘residential’ specifically establishes an area solely for the habitation of humans, but we the individuals residing in this area, now have to contend with daily flocks of cows and horses that damage fences to come onto properties and then further damage flower gardens and vegetable gardens.
They move about with impunity and without restriction, damaging and destroying in their path, hindering the smooth flow of traffic and posing a daily danger to residents and road users.

The streets and private property in and around Boundary Road are constantly covered with animal faeces. The owners of these animals give no consideration to other residents, and especially to those who have built houses but have not as yet fenced them.
This is simply because no one in authority takes action against the owners of these animals despite numerous complaints regarding loss and damage incurred by the community in this regard. Personally I bear no hostility towards these cattle rearers if they would simply restrict their animals to their properties, but to release them to trespass and destroy the properties of other residents displays a selfish and anti-social tendency.
Should residents take to violence or spraying their vegetation with chemicals toprotect their properties, this would be construed as cruelty to animals. I hereby sincerely appeal to the authorized personnel at the Council to attend to this issue urgently or kindly forward this concern to the relative authority with a view to finding some consensus regarding the pleas of the local community.

The new pound which is now functioning, will take care of these issues as we start impounding these cattle. We have also purchased specialized vehicles for this purpose…
