A road of progress or a highway for even more criminal activity?

I am really worried about being robbed or even killed by one of these suspicious characters

Editor – The new road leading to Ezakheni has been welcomed by many commuters travelling to work and town as a blessing, due to the fact that it takes most of them under 10 minutes to reach the CBD.

However, as a concerned resident, I have noticed that people often hang around on the road and mug passersby. I understand that this road does have its advantages, but I am really worried about being robbed or even killed by one of these suspicious characters. I have read and heard of many horrific stories of women and children being raped and killed, and I do not want to be yet another statistic.

Living just up the street, I have had to be more vigilant regarding my property and my family’s personal safety, due to the fact that I am not as young as I used to be (or else I would’ve taken matters into my own hands).

On a more serious note, I highly recommend that the SAPS kindly patrol this road, not only at night.

We cannot be safe until the police maintain a strong watch on the road to discourage it from being a route used by criminals to escape.

Progress is one thing, but we need to make sure residents benefit.
