#FreshTake – Having an impact

People do feed off good energy try to execute good energy, at all times

Sometimes you may never know the impact you may have on others, be it indirect or direct. Sometime in the past week a young lady with a heart of gold texted me this:

“I don’t know you and probably will never get to know you besides who you come across as in your column #Fresh Take. So that’s why I decide to text you this. I just wanted you to know that I find myself going back , digging up old newspapers to get hold of your column and remotivating myself with the topics you write about.”

She went on to say, “besides being beautiful, wise and inspiring, you have indirectly been my voice. I have learned so much by simply picking the paper up every Wednesday and paging to page 8. And I’d love to share that, most of it has been adding up to the person I’m becoming.

Ever since I lost my mother, I depend on friends to validate my worth but now I find myself smiling back at my reflection in the mirror.
You probably the same age as me, or younger either way I am motivated and inspired by you, sometimes moved. May God continue to bless you; I wish you all the best in life. Thank you for being that girl for me.”

Wow, right? After some time that was all I managed to utter. I eventually found words and responded to the young lady. Not once did I ever think when siting down and writing my column every week would have such an effect on someone out there although that was my aim with coming up with the idea of a column.

But having someone tell you directly, you know it’s all worth it, at first you just left dumbfounded then it melts into a feeling I can’t really put into words. It is just a feeling that warms you up inside and makes you feel all mushy. Even if it may be one such youth that feels this way about #Fresh Take, then I am thee most happiest human alive.

People do feed off good energy try to execute good energy, at all times. Thank you to the young lady, just for being so boldly honest and kind thank you, thank you, thank you, it is really humbling.
