Residents thankful for lights in a dark country

This week, Mayor Afzul Rehman discusses the new municipal super block, how the town is not affected by loadshedding, and the popular question of lazy ward councillors.

Dear Mayor, thanx 4 all da good u do. Was wondering about what steps will be taken to ensure ward cllrs are doing what they paid for? Ours is never available in ward 4 and we don’t know who to contact. It does not seem fair day they getting paid to be a cllr an not doing their job.

You can report your councillor to the office of the speaker who will investigate the matter.

NNmayor Sir we are noticing all the construction happening in town and wondering when the new municipality will be complete?

We should be moving in by the end of this year.

Greetings Cllr Afzul Rehman. Maybe we have to thank you or the municipality for the fact we have no load shedding. I don’t understand how it works but I know other towns are heavily affected and wanted to express gratitude that we are not kept in the dark. Mr K. Godfrey

Thank you very much. The forward planning of people years before us and the excellent management in the department currently has so far ensured we meet the demands of Eskom.
