Ramadhan message from the Mayor

Ramadhan also teaches Muslims how to better practice self-discipline, sacrifice and empathy for those who are less fortunate

On behalf of the Umtshezi Municipality councillors and staff, I take this opportunity to wish the Muslim community a blessed and prosperous Ramadhan E Kareem.

The month of Ramadhan is a month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for mankind. Ramadhan is said to redirect the heart away from worldly activity. Ramadhan also teaches Muslims how to better practice self-discipline, sacrifice and empathy for those who are less fortunate, thus encouraging actions of generosity and compassion.

We pray that this Ramadhan will be the catalyst of change globally. Insha-Allah.
