Share the love this Mandela Day

Imagine how much we could change if we refrained from being bitter, selfish people and actually doing something good.

Dear Madam,

As Mandela Day will be celebrated on Saturday, it is time to pull out all the stops to do good deeds.

Although most people will be dedicating 67 minutes of their time to a good cause, I am sure there will be even more people who will not be bothered in the slightest about the significance of the day.

While you might not feel the desire to conform to the global movement, dedicating your time and effort can mean the world to someone who is struggling to keep their head above water and who is facing a multitude of obstacles.

I am all for the 67 minutes; in fact, I think we as a society need to do 67 minutes of charity every day of our lives, and not just on Nelson Mandela’s birthday.

Imagine how much we could change if we refrained from being bitter, selfish people and actually doing something good.

You don’t have to shell out money, but you can give your time to people, which is sometimes the greatest gift.

Share the kindness.
