Why is the Newcastle provincial hospital not being used for the people in Newcastle? Residence of Newcastle are now forced to go to Madadeni and PMB when you have a perfectly good hospital in NN. Shouldn’t you be looking at growing the economy in NN where people from Ladysmith Danhauser, Dundee, Glencoe etc, all still have the option to come to Newcastle should they fall ill. Is there an option to re-open the Hospital in Newcastle or do the residence who have lived there all their lives have to leave the comfort of their home town and the convenience of having their family around them when they are ill and have to be hospitalized?

The hospitals do not fall under my jurisdiction and I cannot answer on behalf of the provincial government.

Mr Mayor the hardwick and allen street intersection has to be urgently looked into,as to the number of accidents caused at this intersection[ I am sure protection services has the records ] my suggestion is that arrows before a robot turns green is the cause of the fatalities , if you look at the nature of the accidents you will notice they occur mainly while turning right into allen street from hardwick.

The intersection will be upgraded in the current upgrades taking place on Allen Street.

Greetings to you Mr mayor, I was wondering if you could find a way of helping our youth who are really in need like I am to be something in future, I am 22 years, I live with my grandmother, I’m currently studying at unisa, doing social work this is my second year, I have been struggling to pay my study fees, ever since 2012 I am trying to find a job but still no luck, my grandmother can’t pay my fees anymore, I even tried registering to start a business all because I want to further my studies, what is it that I have to do exactly to get a job in my home town, where can I find help, I don’t want my dreams to fade away just like my mother’s, mayor please help, my brother is in grade 12 and have big dreams but everything seems to fail for both of us since our grandmother won’t be able to pay our fees with the pension money. I want to be something, unlike the youth who waste time on drugs, alcohol and on sugar daddies, while they can make a difference out of their lives, also on their families

This is commendable, and I go through this pain on a daily basis from young people who want to better their lives but cannot without assistance. My call to business is to step forward and assist us in building South Africa through the education of our youth. Could the writer please contact my office for an appointment : 034 328 7737.
