
Editor – I refer to Mr Maphalala’s response to my letter published on August 14, 2015, in the Ladysmith Gazette.
Yes, Mr Maphalala, the DA councillors did receive Notice and Agendas for the meetings you mentioned.
But the objection was that the DA was not informed that a meeting with the Municipal Demarcation Board had been arranged and only receiving notice by SMS about the meeting with the Municipal Demarcation Board only at 6.31pm the night before.
The Demarcation Board is in Pretoria and not in Johannesburg, as mentioned in the SMS. The DA councillors were not contacted by the Speaker’s Office telephonically, as mentioned in your letter to the press. It is obvious that the DA councillors were not informed in time to be available for the meeting with the Municipal Demarcation Board.
